The Devil Armour by John Marco
Now this book I enjoyed. After having to read The Eyes of God a couple of times and finally getting into it on the last attempt, this book was an absolute breeze. Lukien is such a likeable character as is Gilwyn and Minikin. But Thorin has always been a bit of a loose cannon to me - I never took a greta shining to him at all.
The story? Well it is about how Thorin takes the armour inhabited by a powerful Akari all to himself to save Liiria from Jazana Carr, but things don't work out exactly that way - Khaladris has other ideas for what he wants Throin to do....

Warrior By Jennifer Fallon
This book was truely awe-inspiring - I loved it for the minute I started to the last page. I haven't read a book so quickly in such a long time so it was nice to be able to have a book that made me do this again. I started reading it late in the night and before I knew it it was 2.30am! No wonder my eyes had started falling out of my head, but even then I just couldn't STOP!

It is extremely interesting - the story winds it self up to several climaxes - each more interesting than the last. The characters are interesting and I didn't mind the jump in time half way through the book - it was planned out nicely. Plus the little hints to the Medalon series is great. So much so that I want to read them again!

I thought the Second Sons Trilogy would be hard to match but this series is definately doing that!

Shadowmarch by Tad Williams
I really didn't enjoy this book. It was long, drawn out and really boring. The characters were not likeable, the storyline lacked something and everything just seemed a re-hash of every other fantasy book I have read before. I loved Otherland and liked Memory, Sorrow and Thorn but this last book was a dismal effort that doesn't even have the right to bare Tad's awesome name.
The main problem was that I didn't really like any of the characters so I wasn't compelled to continue to read it. I actually read the last 200 or so pages in half an hour so I could take it back to the library and even skim reading it was boring. Pity.

Star Wars: Yoda - Dark Rendevous by Sean Stewart
Clone Wars Novel set a few months before Revenge of the Sith
This cute little story details how Yoda goes to a secret meeting with Dooku to get sme form of 'peace' happening instead of the war. But both know that it is a sham.
Yoda travels with a couple of Masters and their Padawan's dogged by some strange droids and another more deadly foe. Though Yoda's disguse is moderately amusing.
With the dismal last books in the clone wars (I haven't read the Hard Cover ones yet - I'm getting to them) I actually quite enjoyed this one. It has little to do with anything just giving some characters a little more 'screen time' and having a bit of fun. Better than most of hte other 'clone wars' books ;)

Demonstorm by James Barclay
The Legends of the Raven 3
Oh wow!
What an awesome conclusion to the excellent Raven triogies - sad but very good none the less. That and Auum makes an appearance so that equals me happy.
The story you ask well I was getting to that. The Raven have retired - they go unrecognised in Balaia hunted for their apparent 'power'. So they take to the Elven continent, resigned to living out the rest of their lives peacefully. But that can not happen, in the middle of the night Hirad is awoken by an old friend who seems to be in danger - but how can he? He's dead right? This leads the Raven to believe something might be amiss in their old home and they travel there to find out what.
The ending is horrible - simply horrible - don't say I didn't warn you! (I don't mean writen horrible of course ust very very very sad) Grab some tissues - lots of them! Trust me.

Bridge of Souls by Fiona McIntosh
The Quickening Book 3
This was an awesome story, full of fun and excitement and not to mention a brilliant conclusion to the series. So we know that Wyl is trapped in *** ******* body but he has realised that his final 'shift' would be into the body of the King of Morgavia - but the Quickening has other ideas of course.
Not to mention that but Wyl has a few problems in the body of a female whilst he meets up with the woman of his dreams.
That and pour Finch has his things cut out for him, it's a long way from being a Gong boy!
I really liked the ending I thought it was well written and very fast paced - kept me guessing all of the time ;)

Boba Fett: Pursuit
Boba Fett 6
I know I know it's a kids book but BOBA FETT! Though I was dissapointed by this story - does this mean no Fett in Episode 3? That's a crime.
More of Fett running around though this time he's after Mace Windu - with a debt to pay. That and he finally paints the armour! w00t!
Just a quick little dive back into Fett's 'childhood' so to speak in this series.

Signing
I got to meet Fiona McIntosh! And she's really nice. The author of the Trinity Series (Betrayal, Revenge, Destiny) and the Quickening Series (Myrren's Gift,Blood and Memory, Bridge of Souls) signed all six of my books with a smile.

I want to say thank you to Fiona who made the horrid trip to Sydney worth it.

Jedi Healer by Steven Perry and Matthew Reeves
Star Wars: Med Star II
The second in the duology detailing the trails of Padawan Bariss Offee on her path to becoming a Jedi. On Rimsoo, the medical staff have to deal with many trails, the war continues but they are plagued by other attacks as well, ones of a sabatour. Can Bariss figure it out before it is too late?

It was actually a little bland really, it took a long time for 'exciting' things to happen and there was plenty of 'thinking' momnets and deep thoughts of the characters. I enjoyed the ending though that ws kind of nice though I could've warned Bariss before she realised but hey...

The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell
Alfred the Great I
Ever wondered who Alfred the Great was? How did he save Britan from the Danes? Well then this is the book for you. It details the life of Uthred who at a very young age sees both his father and brother die and is taken prisoner by a Danish Earl, Ragnar. Over the years Uthred loves Ragnar like a father and calls himself a Dane. But when he finds himself in a procarious situation Uthred has to decide where his alligances lie.

Like all of Cornwell's other great Historical Fiction works it is brilliant. Great characters, excellent storyline whilst managing to 'teach' the reader as they are reading. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next one to see where Uthred's path leads him.
